Quality Assurance: Ensuring Safety and Excellence in Every Lesson
Instructors in the SwimmingClasses.sg coaching network hold a range of swimming-teaching qualifications, including those shown here. Credentials and experience differ between instructors.
Before you book, ask us which qualification the matched instructor holds, who issued it, whether it is current, and what experience they have with learners of the same age and level. The right match matters more than a logo: a nervous adult, a four-year-old and a child preparing for a SwimSafer stage each need a different kind of teaching.
NROC Certified: Swimming Coach Singapore
The National Registry of Coaches (NROC) is Singapore’s registry for sports coaches. Ask whether the matched coach is registered and at what level, especially for structured or competitive stroke development.
Swim School International Certified: Swimming Coach Singapore
Swim Schools International (SSI) qualifications cover teaching learners from beginner to more advanced levels. Ask which qualification the assigned instructor holds, who issued it, and whether it is current for the learner and lesson type.
SSTA Certified: Private Swimming Instructor Singapore
Singapore Sports Teachers Association (SSTA) qualifications relate to swimming instruction in Singapore. Confirm the instructor’s current certification before booking.
STA Certified: Swimming Coach Singapore
The Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA) offers swimming-teaching and water-safety qualifications. Ask whether the matched instructor’s STA qualification covers the age group you are booking for.
Austswim Certified: Private Swimming Instructor Singapore
Austswim qualifications focus on teaching swimming and water safety. As with any credential, confirm that it is current and relevant to the learner.
Whichever qualification an instructor holds, the lesson should start at the learner’s current level, keep safety first and give clear feedback after each session.
Toddlers (1 to 1) for 2-4 years old
Gentle water familiarisation with a parent or caregiver in the water, using songs and simple games. Confirm the caregiver arrangement before booking.
Kids (1 to 1) for 5-11 years old
One child, one instructor, without a parent in the water. Pair and three-child small-group options are also available on the kids page.
Adults (1 to 1) for age 12 and above
For complete beginners, nervous swimmers and adults improving a stroke. Lessons start at your current comfort level.
Ladies (1 to 1) for age 12 and above
One-to-one lessons for women and girls. Female-instructor requests are welcome, subject to location and availability.
Special Needs (1 to 1)
One-to-one lessons planned around the learner’s communication, sensory and safety needs, after a suitability discussion.
Diverse Course Offerings
Lessons are arranged one-to-one or in small groups, usually as a package of four lessons at a regular weekly time with the same instructor.
Small groups are kept to learners of a similar age and level, so everyone in the group works on the same skills. Kids can learn in pairs or groups of three; adults, ladies and learners with additional needs usually start one-to-one. Many children follow the national SwimSafer stages as they progress. If a learner moves ahead of or falls behind their group, we suggest a better-matched group or private lessons rather than holding everyone back.
Small-Group Swimming Classes
A small group gives learners peer practice and a lower per-person fee than private lessons. It works best when everyone is at the same step, for example all working on floating and gliding, or all preparing for the same SwimSafer stage. Ask us about the group size and level range before booking, and read how small-group classes work.
Customized Swimming Lessons for Everyone: Private Swimming Lessons Singapore
One-to-one lessons suit nervous beginners, toddlers who need a gentle start, adults with a fear of water, learners with additional needs and swimmers with a specific technique goal. The instructor can set the pace for one learner and give continuous feedback. Compare private swimming lessons and the fee guide.

Choosing the Right Swimming Class
Small groups only work when the learners in them are well matched, so we place each learner by age, confidence and current skills.
At SwimmingClasses.sg, kids’ small groups are kept to two or three children, so the instructor can see every learner at all times and give each child regular feedback. A child who is frightened of water or far ahead of the others is better served by a different group or by one-to-one lessons, and we will say so rather than fill a slot.

One Step at a Time
Good swimming lessons start where the learner is, not where a timetable says they should be. Each package begins with a skills check and ends with a review, so you always know what was practised and what comes next.
We match learners to an instructor and a format (one-to-one, pair or small group) based on age, confidence, goals, location and schedule. Before you pay, we confirm the instructor, pool, lesson times and fee in writing. If a match is not working, for example a child is not progressing in a group, tell us and we will look at a different group, instructor or format.
Get in touch with the learner’s age, current level, preferred pool area and a few possible lesson times. We will suggest a one-to-one, pair or small-group format, check instructor availability and confirm the fee in writing before you book.
