Bijou Swimming Lessons

Residents may enquire about Bijou swimming lessons at 2 Jalan Mat Jambol, opposite Pasir Panjang MRT. Far East Organization's current project page and original brochure verify a rooftop lap pool within this completed mixed-use development.
Kids, adults, ladies and compatible small groups may be considered after residential management approval and an instructor's on-site assessment. The shops and food-and-beverage premises at Bijou do not make the residential pool public or grant a customer, visitor or external coach automatic access.
Verified development identity
Far East Organization identifies Bijou as a freehold, five-storey development with 120 residential units and 15 commercial units. Its fact sheet states TOP 2018, while the original brochure describes a low-rise development integrated with retail and food-and-beverage space at the ground floor and basement.
The residential address is 2 Jalan Mat Jambol, Singapore 119554; current retail material uses number 4 for the commercial component. The URA-derived inventory independently records 120 homes. Far East identifies it as a SOHO project, while the brochure names JU-I Properties Pte Ltd as the licensed developer.
Verified rooftop swimming pool
Far East Organization's exact-project page states that garden landscaping surrounds a rooftop pool and gym, and its facilities list specifically names a lap pool. The original project material corroborates the development identity and integrated layout.
The lap pool is the default assessment area. A separately listed jacuzzi is not treated as teaching water. “Lap pool” is a facility label, not proof of a standard 25m or 50m course. No reviewed primary source establishes its dimensions, depth, lanes or reserved coaching zone; distance drills should use a measured route.
Residential access in a mixed-use development
Bijou combines homes with commercial premises, but those components have different access purposes. Shopping, dining, working nearby or entering the retail area does not establish entitlement to use the residential pool.
The host should confirm the residential entrance, visitor registration, lift or access-card controls, and route an approved instructor must follow. Never rely on tailgating or retail access. SwimmingClasses.sg does not manage Bijou or reserve its facilities; current residential management directions take priority.
Management approval before booking
A communal pool does not automatically permit paid coaching. Before choosing a start date or buying a lesson package, the resident should ask whether the named external instructor may enter and teach.
Confirm resident accompaniment, identification, insurance or qualification requirements, approved hours, participant limits, equipment and photography rules, and any charges. Guest permission is not necessarily commercial-instructor permission; written approval is preferable.
First-session pool assessment
Before recurring lessons, the instructor should inspect:
- the exact pool area authorised for coaching;
- measured usable distance and width;
- depth changes, steps, ledges and underwater features;
- safe entry, exit and reachable recovery points;
- water clarity, lighting and deck grip;
- sightlines across the chosen teaching position;
- rooftop wind, glare and surrounding user traffic;
- lightning shelter and emergency procedures; and
- rules for floats, kickboards, fins and other aids.
If the approved area cannot support continuous supervision or the planned drill, the coach should adapt the activity, reduce the group size or recommend another venue.
Kids swimming lessons
Young beginners may work on safe entry and exit, bubbles, face immersion, supported balance, floating, kicking and returning to a nearby wall. A shallow-looking edge still requires a current depth and boundary check.
School-age learners may progress to streamlining, freestyle and backstroke coordination, breaststroke timing, treading water, survival habits and controlled distance. The instructor should measure the usable route instead of treating the “lap pool” label as a standard length.
Parents should disclose relevant medical, sensory, behavioural or learning needs. Children outside the lesson still require a separate responsible adult. Coaching may prepare SwimSafer-related abilities, but Bijou is not represented as an official assessment venue.
Adult beginner and technique lessons
Adults may start without previous swimming experience. Early sessions can cover controlled exhalation, balance, floating, recovery to standing and short movement near a dependable wall or step.
Water-confident adults may work on body alignment, breathing rhythm, propulsion, stroke efficiency and pacing. Repetitions should use measured distance or time. A public pool may be more suitable when the goal requires a verified 25m or 50m course.
Ladies and female-instructor requests
Ladies may request a female swimming instructor for comfort, cultural preference, privacy or safeguarding. Matching depends on availability, timing and approved access.
The rooftop pool remains a shared residential facility and may be visible from surrounding common areas or homes. A female coach does not make the pool women-only, reserve the water or guarantee visual privacy.
Private and small-group formats
One-to-one coaching provides focused feedback and flexible pacing. “Private lesson” describes the coaching arrangement, not exclusive use of the pool or a reserved lane.
Small groups may suit siblings, couples or authorised residents with compatible ability and goals. Management must permit the participant count, and the group must remain small enough for continuous supervision without inconveniencing other pool users.
Scheduling, weather and interruptions
Weekday or weekend sessions depend on residential facility hours, maintenance, authorised-user demand, instructor availability and approved entry. Quieter periods may improve communication but should be checked rather than promised.
Outdoor rooftop lessons must stop during lightning warnings and unsafe conditions. Agree in advance how lightning, heavy rain, strong wind, maintenance, poor water quality, crowding or failed access affects credits and make-up lessons.
Fees and realistic progress
Fees vary with duration, format, participant count, instructor match, travel and access requirements. No Bijou-specific rate is invented here. Review the swimming lesson fees and rates and request a current quotation.
Before buying a package, confirm participants, proposed water area, schedule, validity, cancellation and weather terms, and management permission. Progress varies, so responsible coaches assess learners before estimating a timeframe.
Frequently asked questions
Does Bijou have a swimming pool?
Yes. Far East Organization's exact-project page verifies a rooftop pool and specifically lists a lap pool among the facilities.
Is the pool open to shoppers or members of the public?
No such public entitlement was found. Bijou is mixed-use, but retail access does not establish access to residential facilities. Lessons require an authorised resident host and current management approval.
How long is the lap pool?
No reliable reviewed primary source provides its dimensions. The instructor should measure the current usable route on site.
Can an external instructor enter Bijou?
Only when current residential management and security procedures permit the named coach. Obtain approval before paying or arranging a start date.
Can complete beginners learn there?
Potentially. Kids and adults may begin with confidence, breathing, floating and safe recovery if an assessed section suits them.
Can I request a female instructor?
Yes. Matching depends on availability, preferred schedule and approved access.
