Hazel Park Condominium Swimming Lessons

Hazel Park Condominium is a completed 696-home development at Hazel Park Terrace. URA-derived data supports its scale, while Dragages Singapore's first-party construction record identifies six residential blocks, two swimming pools and two clubhouses.

Residents may enquire about kids, adult, ladies, beginner, private or compatible small-group swimming lessons. The contractor evidence confirms two pools at construction, but it does not establish which pool is currently suitable or whether external coaching is permitted.

Quick answer

Swimming lessons may be feasible when Hazel Park management permits the named instructor and a resident arranges authorised access. The larger or main swimming pool is the first teaching candidate after an instructor verifies its present route, depths, boundaries, exits and resident circulation.

No lane, quiet period or exclusive section is promised. Children's, wading, tiered-shallow, jacuzzi, spa, feature, decorative and private water are excluded by default.

Six residential blocks and seven current addresses

Dragages identifies three 19-storey and three five-storey residential blocks, totalling six. The URA-derived row also contains six residential postal records and 696 homes.

Current building records list 15, 17, 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29 Hazel Park Terrace. The record at 23 is low rise and appears alongside the residential blocks, but available evidence does not justify treating it as a seventh residential tower or adding homes to the URA total.

This page therefore preserves both source views. Residents should provide their exact block, authorised visitor entrance, security procedure and internal meeting point.

What the contractor record proves

Dragages Singapore states that Hazel Park was built with two swimming pools and two clubhouses for Hong Leong Holdings Ltd during 1997–1999. This is project-specific evidence from the main contractor rather than a generic property listing.

It proves the designed pool count at construction. It does not say whether one pool is a children's, wading, leisure or lap facility, and it does not provide current dimensions, depths, lane markings, condition, opening hours or lesson policy.

The instructor must inspect the actual candidate pool. Do not assume both pools are usable, equivalent or available at the proposed time.

Do not adopt unsupported depth claims

A swimming provider's current marketing page describes several tiered pools and gives a 1.0–1.2m depth range. That may help identify a question to ask on site, but it is not an authenticated estate plan or current measurement.

This page does not repeat that range as fact. Depths and transitions must be verified in the selected section before programming a lesson, especially for children, nervous adults and non-swimmers.

MCST and management approval

Current records identify active MCST Plan 2497 and the management address at 15 Hazel Park Terrace. A current dataset names a managing agent, but appointments and policies can change.

Residents should confirm by-laws, pool notices and visitor procedures through the estate's official channel. Ask whether the named external instructor, paid coaching and proposed format are allowed.

Confirm identification, resident accompaniment, qualifications, insurance, participant limits, approved hours, equipment, photography and any booking requirement. Payment or a resident invitation does not reserve water space or override management decisions.

First-session assessment

Before recurring lessons, verify:

  • approval for the named instructor and arrangement;
  • exact block, entrance and internal route;
  • which of the two pools is approved for teaching;
  • present usable distance, depths and transitions;
  • starting and turning walls or clear boundaries;
  • lane markings, obstructions and resident circulation;
  • steps, ladders, ledges and dependable recovery points;
  • separation from shallow, jacuzzi and leisure areas;
  • deck grip, drainage, glare and water clarity;
  • cleaning, closure and maintenance notices;
  • lightning shelter and evacuation route; and
  • emergency contacts and supervision requirements.

Stop or adapt when weather, crowding, water condition, poor visibility or management instructions make the activity unsafe. Construction evidence is not a present safety inspection.

Choosing between the two pools

Pool choice should follow current management permission and an instructor's assessment, not convenience alone. The larger or more continuous route may support stroke practice, while a verified shallower section of the same main pool may suit early confidence work.

The second pool is not automatically a learner pool. If it is shallow, tiered, connected to leisure features or heavily used by young children, it may be unsuitable for structured coaching.

Keep all participants within one visible approved zone. Do not use another pool for unsupervised warm-ups, waiting or overflow practice.

Kids swimming lessons

Young beginners may practise safe entry, bubbles, face immersion, supported floating, kicking and returning to a reachable wall. The selected section must suit the child's height, confidence, communication needs and recovery ability.

Early practice should use a short visible route near a dependable exit in a measured depth. A pool marketed as shallow is not automatically suitable without current assessment.

School-age learners may progress through freestyle and backstroke coordination, breaststroke timing, treading water and practical self-rescue. Confident swimmers can use measured repeats and turns when the route remains clear.

Parents should disclose medical, sensory, behavioural or learning needs and supervise siblings who are not participating.

Adult beginner and stroke coaching

Adult beginners can start with calm exhalation, balance, floating, standing recovery and short independent movement near a reliable exit. Nervous learners may repeat small stages before increasing distance or depth.

Water-confident adults may refine alignment, catch, rotation, breathing rhythm, breaststroke timing, turns, pacing and fitness. Repeats should use the route measured that day rather than an assumed pool length.

Tell the instructor about injuries, mobility restrictions, exercise limits, medical advice and water anxiety before entering the water.

Ladies and female-instructor requests

Ladies may request a female instructor for comfort, privacy, cultural preference or safeguarding. Matching depends on instructor availability, Upper Bukit Timah coverage, timing and management approval.

The pools remain shared. A female coach does not create a women-only session, reserve a pool or guarantee visual privacy. Swimwear and equipment must follow current estate rules while allowing safe movement.

Private and compatible small groups

One-to-one lessons provide focused feedback and flexible pacing. “Private” describes the coaching format; it does not make either pool private.

Small groups may suit compatible siblings, couples or neighbours with similar confidence, goals and safe working depths. Large ability gaps can complicate supervision.

Everyone should remain in one visible, approved pool zone. Excluded water must not be used for waiting or overflow.

Scheduling and fees

Residents can propose weekday or weekend times after checking pool hours, cleaning, maintenance and normal demand. Hazel Park's 696-home scale makes shared-space planning important, but unit count does not prove that a particular time will be crowded.

No recurring slot or quiet period is guaranteed. Singapore lightning and heavy rain require prompt suspension and movement to approved shelter. Written terms should cover weather, maintenance, denied entry and closure.

Fees depend on duration, format, participant count, instructor match, travel and access requirements. No Hazel Park-specific price is invented. Review the fees and rates guide and request a written quotation after access appears feasible.

Lessons may support SwimSafer preparation, but Hazel Park is not represented as an assessment or certification venue.

Frequently asked questions

Does Hazel Park have swimming pools?

Yes. Dragages Singapore's project record explicitly identifies two swimming pools.

Are both pools suitable for lessons?

Not necessarily. Each candidate section requires current management approval and an on-site assessment.

Is the advertised 1.0–1.2m depth confirmed?

No. That range comes from third-party marketing and is not adopted without current measurement.

Can an external coach enter?

Only when current management permits the named instructor and arrangement. Confirm before booking.

Is either pool reserved for private coaching?

No. Private coaching does not create priority or exclusive use.

Sources and review note

Facts were reviewed on 28 August 2026 using URA-derived residential data, Dragages Singapore's Hazel Park project record, current BCA-derived MCST data and current building records. These support 696 homes, six residential blocks, two swimming pools and MCST Plan 2497. Seven current addresses remain distinct from the six-address residential evidence. Current pool types, dimensions, depths, lanes, condition, hours, visitor rules and paid-coach access require verification.
