Katong Regency Swimming Lessons

Katong Regency is a completed freehold condominium at 13–17 Tanjong Katong Road in Singapore. UOL's official project record verifies 244 homes above the former One KM mall and identifies a main infinity pool, jacuzzi and residential clubhouse facilities.
This guide separates the residential teaching candidate from leisure water, decorative features and public-facing commercial areas.
Quick answer
The developer-confirmed main infinity pool is the clearest candidate for structured instruction. Before recurring lessons are booked, the hosting resident must obtain current approval for the named instructor and the coach must assess the exact permitted section, depths, walls, infinity edge and shared conditions.
The jacuzzi, wading pool, hydrotherapy references, pond and reflective pool are not interchangeable lesson venues. No reviewed source establishes a pool length, formal lanes, competition certification or exclusive coaching area.
Verified development identity
The URA-derived dwelling universe records 244 homes across three Katong Regency addresses. UOL's official publication independently identifies a 244-unit residential development above One KM and lists its principal residential facilities. Current 99.co records place the three blocks at 13, 15 and 17 Tanjong Katong Road, with completion in August 2015.
PropertyGuru's structured project fields state 244 units, although one paragraph says 224. UOL, the URA-derived total and current structured records support 244; the conflict is retained.
This page concerns only Katong Regency. It does not transfer pool evidence from other Katong-named condominiums, the mall, nearby hotels, clubs or public swimming facilities.
Official infinity-pool evidence
UOL's exact project record states that Katong Regency features a main infinity pool, clubhouse, indoor gymnasium, poolside lounge, steam rooms, barbecue patio and jacuzzi. This is strong developer evidence of the original residential design.
“Infinity” describes an edge treatment or visual effect. It does not prove a 25-metre or 50-metre route, uniform depth, lane markings, starting blocks, timing equipment or competition certification. The coach must inspect how the edge, walls, steps and recovery points affect the learner.
Current 99.co data also lists an infinity pool and wading pool. The wading-pool label supports a separate aquatic function but not its current depth or suitability for instruction.
Leisure and decorative-water separation
Current facility records additionally list a jacuzzi, pond and reflective pool, while some active listings mention hydrotherapy water. These labels describe different intended functions and must not be grouped together as swimming pools.
Jacuzzi and hydrotherapy areas may contain jets, ledges or seating. Ponds and reflective pools are decorative water, not lesson venues. Wading-pool use requires separate permission and assessment.
All routine stroke instruction described on this page is limited to the management-approved main swimming section. No lesson should enter decorative, commercial or leisure water merely because it appears on a site plan.
Integrated-development access
Katong Regency sits above a commercial component now associated with KINEX. Public access to shops, dining or parking does not grant entry to residential lifts, decks or the condominium pool.
Before travel, confirm the block, residential entrance, security procedure, visitor parking and pool-deck meeting point.
The coach must follow residential management directions even when the mall is publicly accessible.
Management and security approval
Before booking, ask the current managing agent or MCST whether the named external coach, learner count, lesson format and proposed time are permitted. Confirm identification, resident accompaniment, instructor qualifications, insurance and any indemnity requirements.
Also check rules covering teaching aids, photography, group size, noise, poolside waiting, use of secondary water areas and bad-weather procedures. Current by-laws, notices and security directions override developer material and previous access arrangements.
If paid external coaching is not permitted, the lesson cannot proceed at Katong Regency. SwimmingClasses.sg cannot grant residential access.
First-session pool assessment
Before recurring lessons begin, verify:
- the correct residential entrance, block and meeting point;
- approval for every coach, learner and accompanying person;
- the exact main-pool section permitted for instruction;
- measured usable distance, width and depth changes;
- walls, steps, ladders and reachable recovery points;
- the infinity edge, ledges, drains, jets and underwater features;
- separation from wading, jacuzzi, hydrotherapy and decorative water;
- deck grip, drainage, glare, shade and sightlines;
- ordinary resident traffic and maintenance periods;
- lightning shelter and emergency procedures; and
- rules for floats, kickboards, fins and other teaching aids.
The instructor should shorten drills, relocate the session or recommend another approved venue if the available section cannot safely support the learner's goals.
Kids swimming lessons
Young beginners may practise safe entry and exit, bubbles, face immersion, supported balance, kicking and returning to a reachable wall. The selected section must suit the child's height, confidence, communication needs and recovery ability.
School-age learners may progress to streamlining, freestyle and backstroke coordination, breaststroke timing, treading water and self-rescue habits. The infinity edge should be treated according to its current physical design, not as a visual attraction.
Parents should disclose relevant medical, sensory, behavioural or learning needs. Non-participating children require separate adult supervision around every aquatic and decorative-water area.
Adult beginner and stroke coaching
Adult beginners can start with controlled exhalation, balance, floating, recovery to standing and short movement near a dependable wall. Nervous learners should progress gradually without pressure to cross unfamiliar water.
Water-confident adults may work on alignment, breathing rhythm, stroke efficiency, pacing and endurance. Drills must fit the measured, approved route and shared resident conditions.
Tell the instructor about injuries, mobility restrictions, medical considerations or difficult water experiences before the first session.
Ladies and female-instructor requests
Ladies may request a female swimming instructor for comfort, cultural preference, privacy or safeguarding. Matching depends on instructor availability, Paya Lebar coverage, schedule and successful residential access.
The pool remains communal and may be visible from homes and shared areas. A female instructor does not create a women-only setting, reserve the water or guarantee privacy.
Private and small-group formats
One-to-one lessons provide focused feedback and flexible pacing. “Private” describes the coaching arrangement, not exclusive use of the pool.
Small groups may suit siblings, couples or learners with similar ability and goals. The group must comply with estate rules and remain small enough for continuous supervision without blocking the approved section.
Scheduling, weather and closures
Residents can propose weekday or weekend sessions after checking pool hours and demand. The elevated setting may involve changing glare or wind.
Outdoor lessons must stop during lightning warnings and unsafe weather. Agree how lightning, heavy rain, wind, maintenance, poor water quality, crowding or failed access affects credits and make-up sessions.
Fees and booking expectations
Fees depend on duration, format, participant count, instructor match, travel and access requirements. No Katong Regency-specific price is invented. Review the SwimmingClasses.sg fees and rates guide and request a current written quotation.
Confirm participants, payment timing, cancellation notice, package validity, weather terms and management permission before purchasing multiple sessions.
Water safety and SwimSafer
Condo lessons may build confidence, floating, recovery, strokes and water-safety habits. Katong Regency is not presented as an official SwimSafer assessment venue without separate programme and venue confirmation.

Sources and review note
Identity, scale, original facility design and aquatic evidence were reviewed on 29 August 2026 using the URA-derived dwelling dataset, UOL's official Katong Regency publication and current exact-development records from 99.co and PropertyGuru.
The 244-home identity, integrated-development form, main infinity pool and jacuzzi are supported. The secondary 224-unit wording is retained as a source discrepancy. Pool dimensions, depths, current condition, residential rules and paid-coach permission remain qualified or unverified where stated.
