Otto Place is an uncompleted executive condominium at Plantation Close in Tengah. URA lists it among uncompleted EC projects with development approval. Its project factsheet identifies Hoi Hup Sunway Plantation Pte Ltd, gives an estimated TOP period of Q1 2028 and states notice of vacant possession on 30 June 2030.

The plan includes five pools: a 50-metre lap pool, hydrotherapy pool, children's pool, family pool and aqua gym pool. This is a future-planning guide only. Otto Place and its pools are not operational, and no current lesson, access or instructor availability is claimed.

Quick answer

The planned 50m lap pool is the strongest candidate for structured lessons. Its length could support progressive stroke work and repeat swimming after the completed depth, walls, markings and shared-use conditions are assessed.

The other four pools have child, family, exercise or therapy purposes. They should not be treated as interchangeable lesson venues merely because they share the same estate.

Evidence and limits

URA establishes the project's current uncompleted, approved EC status. The project factsheet establishes the project company, Plantation Close addresses, development timetable and five-pool facility schedule.

An estimated TOP period and notice-of-possession date are different milestones; neither proves actual completion or pool opening. The factsheet does not prove completed depths, lane markings, water clarity, operating hours, visitor rules or permission for paid external coaches.

Selecting among five planned pools

The 50m lap pool is the primary future teaching candidate. The family and children's pools may have more play traffic, while the aqua gym and hydrotherapy pool may contain jets, equipment, ledges or wellness users that reduce teaching suitability.

After handover, inspect:

• actual depths and transitions;
• clear straight-line swimming space;
• stable recovery walls and reachable edges;
• steps, ladders, ledges and overflow details;
• crossings between lap and recreational zones;
• visibility around planting, pavilions and decks;
• caregiver waiting and learner handover space; and
• lightning, maintenance and closure procedures.

No published pool name guarantees a reserved lane.

Future kids swimming lessons

Young beginners may practise safe entry, face immersion, breathing, floating, kicking and wall recovery after the completed depth is matched to their height and confidence. The children's pool should not be selected solely because it is shallow; limited distance, play features and busy family use may reduce control.

Independent children may progress to freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and breathing coordination in the lap pool if shared conditions allow. Parents remain responsible for direct handover and supervision outside lesson time.

Future adult and ladies lessons

Adult beginners may work on relaxed exhalation, balance, floating and short controlled swims in an assessed area. Learners anxious about being unable to stand should disclose that concern during enquiry.

Intermediate adults may use a completed long path for alignment, breathing efficiency, turns and repeat swimming. A female instructor may be requested, subject to future Tengah coverage, schedule, residential access and availability. A women-only environment cannot be guaranteed.

Private and small-group formats

Private lessons may suit anxious beginners or focused correction. Small groups may suit siblings, couples or neighbours with compatible abilities and supervision needs.

Group size must reflect actual depth, visibility, recreational traffic and management rules. Five planned pools do not create exclusive teaching space.

EC access and Tengah boundaries

Otto Place is planned as private EC property. Nearby Plantation Close, the linear park, Plantation Farmway and future Jurong Region Line stations do not create access to its facilities.

After handover, the hosting resident should confirm visitor registration, identification, escort requirements, the approved entrance and whether paid external coaching is permitted. A side gate facing public greenery is not an automatic instructor entrance.

Sky gardens and reflection ponds are not swimming pools. Public parks and waterways around Tengah are also not ordinary substitutes for the residential pool.

Timing and first-session checks

Residents should wait for actual handover, pool opening and management rules before buying an Otto Place-specific package. The first visit should confirm meeting point, access route, completed depth, safe recovery wall, changing facilities and emergency procedures.

If final construction differs from the factsheet, actual conditions must control the lesson plan and future page updates.

Weather, fees and SwimSafer

Outdoor pools may be affected by lightning, heavy rain, glare and maintenance. Written terms should explain notice, credits, make-ups, expiry and access-related cancellations.
