Parc Clematis Swimming Lessons for Kids and Adults

Parc Clematis is a completed private residential development at Jalan Lempeng in Clementi. URA records the project as completed in the fourth quarter of 2023. Project material identifies three 50-metre lap pools, a 100-metre beach-like swimming pool, children and toddler pools, hydrotherapy and aquatherapy pools, and jacuzzi alcoves.
The range of pools creates useful options, but it also makes pool selection important. A resident should not assume that the largest, shallowest or nearest water feature is automatically the safest place for a lesson.
Quick answer
One of the 50-metre lap pools is likely to be the best starting point for structured swimming lessons at Parc Clematis. A regular lap-pool path can support beginner progression, stroke development and repeat swimming, subject to completed depth, entry, wall and shared-use checks.
The 100-metre beach-like pool may provide a long swimming environment, but its beach-style entry, changing depths, irregular edges and recreational purpose require a different assessment. Children's, toddler, therapy and jacuzzi settings should not be treated as interchangeable teaching pools.
What is verified
URA's completion annex verifies that Parc Clematis was completed in the fourth quarter of 2023. The project sales kit identifies three 50-metre lap pools, a 100-metre beach-like swimming pool, two children or toddler pools, hydrotherapy and aquatherapy pools, and jacuzzi alcoves.
The selected sources do not establish current coaching permission, each pool's depth profile, lane markings, daily crowd pattern or instructor access process. These operational points should be confirmed with management.
Choosing among multiple 50m pools
Having three stated 50-metre lap pools does not mean that every pool has identical depths, entry points or usage. The resident and instructor should choose a single agreed lesson pool after inspecting:
- shallow and deeper sections along the intended path;
- stable walls, steps and ladders;
- lane markings or crossing routes;
- visibility and landscaping sightlines;
- proximity to children's play or social areas;
- the safest caregiver waiting point;
- crowd levels at proposed lesson times; and
- management restrictions on coaching and equipment.
The meeting point should name the exact pool or nearby facility. “At the lap pool” may be ambiguous in a large development.
The 100m beach-like pool
The project material describes a 100-metre beach-like swimming pool. The stated length should not be confused with a straight 100-metre training lane. A beach-style pool may include a sloping entry, curved perimeter, leisure zones, islands or changing widths.
It may support selected confidence exercises or longer movement after inspection, but the instructor should verify the actual clear path and recovery points. A learner should not be sent across a large leisure pool merely because the overall feature is described as 100 metres.
Kids swimming lessons
Young beginners may practise safe entry, bubbles, face immersion, floating, recovery, kicking and short independent movement in a suitably assessed section of a lap pool.
The children or toddler pools should not automatically be selected. A shallow play pool can contain water features, irregular edges and recreational traffic that make instruction harder to control. The instructor should choose the area based on the learner's needs and actual conditions.
Independent children may progress to freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, coordinated breathing and repeat swimming. Fifty-metre repeats should be introduced only after technique, endurance and instruction response are sufficiently stable.
Parents remain responsible for supervision before handover and after collection. In a large estate, the responsible adult and instructor should agree on a precise meeting point.
Adult and ladies swimming lessons
Adult beginners may start with exhalation, balance, floating, recovery and short swims without pressure to complete a full length. A 50-metre pool is useful only when exercises match the learner's confidence.
Intermediate adults may work on stroke timing, breathing efficiency, turns, pacing and repeat sets. The instructor should adapt if residents are crossing, exercising or using the same pool recreationally.
A female swimming instructor can be requested for adult beginners, ladies or children. Matching depends on Clementi coverage, access, schedule and instructor availability. A private lesson does not guarantee a women-only pool environment.
Private and small-group lessons
Private lessons offer closer adjustment for nervous learners and targeted stroke correction. Small groups may suit siblings, neighbours or couples with compatible skill and supervision needs.
The instructor should not split learners between different pools. Every participant must remain within a clear observation area, and group size must fit management rules and actual pool traffic.
No exclusive lane or private pool section is promised.
Therapy and wellness pools
Hydrotherapy, aquatherapy and jacuzzi settings serve wellness or relaxation. Warm water, jets, seating and limited clear distance may make them unsuitable for ordinary swimming instruction.
These features should not be used merely because a lap pool is busy. If the agreed teaching pool is unavailable, the lesson may need different drills or rescheduling.
Access and estate logistics
Parc Clematis is a large private development. Residents should confirm whether external swimming coaches are permitted, how visitors register, which entrance and drop-off point should be used, and whether the resident must escort the instructor.
Ask whether management restricts teaching to particular pools, days, hours or group sizes. Confirm whether floats, kickboards or other aids are allowed and where equipment may be placed without obstructing residents.
Security instructions and unit details should be shared privately. SwimmingClasses.sg will not advise coaches to bypass access controls.
Scheduling and shared use
Multiple pools can distribute residents, but they do not guarantee a quiet lesson space. Weekend afternoons, school-holiday periods and warm evenings may attract recreational use.
Provide several possible windows during enquiry. The resident may observe each proposed pool at similar times before selecting a regular slot. If the chosen pool becomes crowded, the instructor may shorten repeats, use stationary drills or reschedule.
Weather and lesson safety
Outdoor pools are affected by lightning, heavy rain, heat, wind and poor visibility. Lessons must stop when site rules or conditions require it. Moving to another outdoor pool does not bypass a development-wide weather closure.
Written terms should cover weather notice, credits, make-ups, package expiry and access-related cancellations. Children who are unwell, excessively tired or unable to follow safety directions should not be pushed through a session.
Fees and frequency
Fees depend on lesson format, duration, group size, instructor match, travel and estate access. A quotation should state the instructor, lesson length, payment terms, package expiry and cancellation policy. This page does not invent a Parc Clematis-specific price.
Many swimmers benefit from a consistent weekly lesson. More frequent sessions may support a short-term goal when recovery and safe practice permit it, but no fixed mastery date should be guaranteed before assessment.

SwimSafer and water safety
Condo lessons can develop breathing control, floating, rotation, safe entry, wall recovery and sustained movement. Families preparing for SwimSafer should share the relevant stage and assessment goal.
Practice at Parc Clematis does not itself issue a SwimSafer certificate. Formal assessment venue and assessor requirements must be confirmed separately.
Frequently asked questions
Is Parc Clematis completed?
Yes. URA records it as completed in the fourth quarter of 2023.
How many 50m lap pools are identified?
Project material identifies three 50-metre lap pools. Their completed depths, lane arrangements and current rules still require checking.
Is the 100m beach-like pool a training lane?
Not necessarily. The description refers to the overall beach-like pool feature, not a verified straight 100-metre lane.
Are the children's pools automatically best for beginners?
No. The instructor should assess depth, features, visibility and traffic before choosing a teaching area.
Can I request a female instructor?
Yes, subject to coverage, schedule, access and availability.
Is a lane reserved?
No exclusive lane is promised unless management expressly approves one.
