Sanctuary Green Swimming Lessons

Sanctuary Green is an existing condominium at Tanjong Rhu Road. BCA's architectural case study records 522 units across five tower blocks and describes a beach-resort pool concept with palms and frangipani trees at the pool deck. Kimly Construction independently records five residential blocks, 522 units and completion in June 2004.
The authenticated sources establish a resort-style pool setting but do not state exact dimensions, depths, marked lanes or certification. Secondary pages use lap, retreat, fun and wading-pool labels; those sub-types are not adopted here without authenticated original specifications.
Quick answer
Residents may enquire about kids, adult, ladies, beginner, private or compatible small-group swimming lessons at Sanctuary Green. Lessons can proceed only if current management permits the paid external instructor, the resident completes access arrangements, and an on-site assessment confirms that an approved pool section suits the learner.
No reserved lane, exclusive teaching area, quiet period, standard course or guaranteed coach entry is promised. Resort landscaping, leisure use and current management directions always take priority over lesson plans.
Understanding the resort-style pool setting
BCA explains that the project's City–Waters–Resort theme carries through the open spaces, boardwalks, play equipment and beach-resort pool concept. This design language does not prove that every visible water area is intended for swimming or teaching.
Before instruction, the coach should inspect the actual pool edges, beach-style entries, steps, ladders, depths, transitions, visibility and resident movement. Beginners generally need manageable water near a reliable recovery point. Strong swimmers may use longer repetitions only if the verified clear route, technique and shared conditions support them.
Curved edges, planted islands, shallow entries, fountains or decorative water can interrupt a straight teaching route. Any play, wellness or landscape water must be identified directly and should not be treated as interchangeable with the swimming area because a secondary portal supplies a label.
First-session pool and access checklist
Before recurring lessons begin, verify:
- current permission for a paid external swimming instructor;
- resident sponsorship, visitor registration and escort procedures;
- identification, insurance, qualifications or advance notice required;
- the exact pool section and times approved for instruction;
- actual depths, beach entries, transitions and restricted areas;
- safe walls, steps, ladders and recovery points;
- clear swimming distance and any lane markings;
- curves, ledges, jets, planters or other obstructions;
- separation from play, wellness and decorative water;
- typical lap, leisure, play and crossing traffic;
- deck and boardwalk grip, drainage, shade, heat and glare;
- opening hours, cleaning and maintenance closures;
- lightning and emergency procedures; and
- equipment, group-size, noise and photography limits.
Current by-laws, management notices, security instructions and poolside signs take priority over this guide and design-era material.
Kids swimming lessons
Young beginners may practise safe entry, bubbles, face immersion, supported floating, kicking and returning to an accessible edge. The selected water must suit the child's height, confidence, communication needs and recovery ability.
School-age learners may progress through alignment, freestyle and backstroke coordination, breaststroke timing, treading water and practical self-rescue habits. Distance should increase gradually while technique and active supervision remain sound.
Parents should disclose relevant medical, sensory or learning needs. A responsible adult should remain available whenever estate rules or the learner's circumstances require it. A beach-style entry may appear gentle but still requires depth, surface, traffic and recovery checks.
Adult beginner and stroke coaching
Adult beginners can work on calm exhalation, balance, floating, standing recovery and short independent movement near a suitable edge. Nervous learners should progress in controlled stages rather than being pressured to cross an unverified distance.
Water-confident adults may improve alignment, catch, rotation, breathing rhythm, breaststroke efficiency, turns and pacing. Sets should fit the actual clear route and resident traffic rather than assume a straight or uninterrupted lane within a resort-style layout.
Learners should disclose injuries, mobility restrictions, exercise limits and water anxiety. Unsuitable depth, crowding or limited recovery access may require shorter drills, another approved section, a different time or an alternative venue.
Ladies and female-instructor requests
Ladies may request a female swimming instructor for comfort, cultural preference, privacy or safeguarding. Matching depends on instructor availability, Tanjong Rhu coverage, schedule and estate-access approval.
The pool remains shared with residents. A female coach does not create a women-only session or guarantee visual privacy. Modest swimwear remains subject to safety, hygiene and management requirements.
Private and small-group formats
One-to-one lessons provide focused feedback and flexible pacing. Private instruction does not reserve part of the pool or give priority over residents.
Small groups may suit siblings, couples or neighbours with compatible ages, abilities and goals. Numbers must comply with management requirements and allow continuous supervision. Mixed abilities, curved pool geometry or busy leisure use may make separate lessons safer.
Approved floats and kickboards must remain clear of steps, ladders, beach entries and emergency routes. The instructor should adapt or pause whenever residents enter the teaching space.
Resident, management and security approval
Sanctuary Green is private residential property. Its pool and landscaped deck are not public teaching facilities despite the nearby waterfront and sports amenities.
The resident should ask management whether paid coaches are permitted and whether visitor registration, identification, insurance, qualifications, booking, escort or advance registration is required. Management may regulate pool choice, times, group size, equipment, noise and photography.
Written confirmation is preferable when rules are unclear. Previous instructor entry does not establish continuing permission, and submitting an enquiry is not an estate access pass.
Scheduling, weather and waterfront boundaries
Residents can propose several weekday or weekend options after checking opening hours, maintenance notices and typical resident traffic. No quiet window, reserved section or guaranteed instructor slot should be advertised without current confirmation.
Singapore weather can bring lightning, heavy rain, heat and glare. Lessons must stop during lightning warnings and whenever visibility, water condition, deck grip, closure notices or management directions make continuation unsafe.
The Kallang Basin, Singapore River and decorative estate water are not substitute teaching venues. Busy conditions may require shorter drills, another approved pool section, a pause or rescheduling.
Fees, cancellations and SwimSafer planning
Fees depend on duration, private or group format, participant count, instructor match, travel and access requirements. No Sanctuary Green-specific rate is invented. Review the fees and rates guide and request a written quotation.
Terms should cover weather, failed access, closures, notice periods, credits, make-up lessons and package expiry. Payment does not reserve shared water or override management decisions.
Lessons may develop confidence, recovery, strokes and water-safety skills relevant to SwimSafer preparation. Sanctuary Green is not presented as an official assessment or certification venue without separate confirmation.

Sources and review note
Facts were reviewed on 27 August 2026 using BCA's Sanctuary Green architectural case study, Kimly Construction's project record, GuocoLand reporting and the URA-derived dwelling dataset. They support the Tanjong Rhu identity, five blocks, 522 units, June 2004 completion and a beach-resort pool concept. Pool dimensions, depths, lanes, secondary sub-pool labels, certification, current availability and external-coach rules remain withheld or subject to direct verification.
