The expected vacant-possession date is not a guarantee of the date on which residents can use every facility. Construction, regulatory approvals, handover arrangements and facility commissioning can change. Enquiries made before the pool opens should be treated as planning discussions only.
Assessing the infinity lap pool after handover
An infinity-edge design requires more than a length check. Before the first lesson, the resident and instructor should inspect:
- The exact water depth along the proposed lesson path.
- Stable steps, ladders and wall sections for entry and recovery.
- The location of the infinity edge and any overflow channel.
- Underwater ledges, shelves or changes in level.
- Visibility across the teaching area.
- Recreational traffic and crossing swimmers.
- Current rules on coaches, equipment and lesson timing.
- Lightning, maintenance and closure procedures.
A lap-pool label does not guarantee an exclusive lane. Lessons should use only an approved area that allows the instructor to remain close enough to assist the learner.
Why the spa pool is different
Spa pools are generally designed for rest rather than repeatable swimming. Jets, seating, warm water and irregular shapes can interfere with body alignment, visibility and safe recovery.
The completed spa pool should therefore be excluded from ordinary stroke lessons unless management and an on-site assessment establish a limited, appropriate use. It should never be presented as a children's teaching pool merely because it may appear shallower.
Kids swimming lessons
After handover and approval, a young beginner may work on safe entry, bubbles, face immersion, floating, returning to a wall, kicking and short propulsion. The instructor should choose distances that keep a safe recovery point close.
An independent child may progress to freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, coordinated breathing and longer repeats. A lap pool can support consistent practice, but a child does not need to swim its full length during every lesson.
Parents remain responsible for active supervision outside the booked lesson. A lesson does not make unsupervised practice safe.
Adult and ladies swimming lessons
Adult beginners can start with breathing, balance, floating, recovery and short controlled movement. More experienced adults may request stroke timing, efficiency, pacing or fitness work after the pool has been assessed.

Sky Eden@Bedok includes residential and retail uses. Access to a shop, public walkway or nearby community facility does not establish access to the private residential pool.
After handover, the resident should confirm the correct visitor route, pre-registration process, identification or insurance requirements, resident-presence rule, permitted lesson hours and equipment restrictions. Scheduling lessons after the development opens
Residents can suggest several weekday or weekend windows, but a schedule should not be finalised until the pool is operational and management permission is confirmed. Quieter approved periods often help beginners hear instructions and reduce crossing traffic.
The first appointment should allow extra time for access and an on-site safety review. Written booking terms should explain what happens if an instructor is denied entry, a facility remains closed or management changes its rules.
Lesson frequency and progression
Many learners benefit from a consistent weekly lesson. Some may use two sessions per week for a short period, but an intensive schedule should depend on the learner's energy, confidence and safe practice opportunities.
Progress should be measured through demonstrated skills: calm exhalation, balance, controlled recovery, safe wall returns, coordinated propulsion and later stroke efficiency. No fixed number of lessons or guaranteed result should be promised.
Between lessons, residents should repeat only instructor-assigned tasks under suitable supervision. Adult non-swimmers should not practise alone, and parents should not introduce unsupported deep-water challenges.
Weather, maintenance and closures
Outdoor pool lessons must stop for lightning warnings and follow the condominium's closure procedures. Poor visibility, water-quality concerns, maintenance or crowding may also require postponement.
The spa pool should not be used automatically when the lap pool closes. Written terms should cover notice periods, credits, make-up lessons, package expiry and access-related cancellations.
Fees and the first assessment
Fees may vary by lesson format, duration, travel, package size and learner count. Ask for a written quotation stating the instructor, participants, lesson length, payment terms, expiry and cancellation policy.

Condominium lessons are not automatically part of the official SwimSafer programme. Families seeking certification should confirm the instructor's eligibility, syllabus and assessment venue.
Water confidence is not the same as water safety. Learners should understand safe entry, recovery to an edge, following instructions and seeking help. Lessons do not replace active supervision.
Alternative lesson locations
