The Continuum Swimming Lessons Planning Guide

The Continuum is an uncompleted freehold private condominium spanning North and South plots at Thiam Siew Avenue. URA lists it among uncompleted developments with approval. Project particulars identify Hoi Hup Sunway Katong Pte Ltd and state notice of vacant possession on 17 November 2027.
The developer facilities page plans a 33.3-metre North lap pool and a South pool system containing a 50-metre section, a 25-metre section, family, wellness, children's and toddler pools. This page is for future planning only: the development and pools are not operational, and no present lesson access is claimed.
Quick answer
The correct future teaching pool may depend on which plot the resident can access and the learner's needs. The North lap pool is planned at 33.3 metres by 7 metres and 1.2 metres deep. The South Lake Pool zone is planned with a 50-metre by 5.5-metre section and a 25-metre by 3-metre section, also at 1.2 metres depth.
These specifications are unusually detailed, but they remain planned rather than completed. Neither pool should be selected before actual walls, depths, access rules, traffic and recovery points are inspected.
North and South plot distinction
The Continuum is not a single simple pool deck. The two residential plots are linked by the Continuum Bridge, and each has different facility zones.
The North Wellness Pool Zone includes the 33.3-metre lap pool with a jacuzzi cove, leisure pool and aqua-gym features. The South contains the Lake Pool's 50-metre and 25-metre paths, plus a River Pool zone with family, wellness, children's and toddler settings.
A resident should not assume that access to one plot, tower or pool automatically permits coaching in every facility. Bridge access, security and management rules require confirmation.
Published depths and beginner suitability
Both main lap pools are planned at 1.2 metres depth. This may suit some independent children and adults but may be too deep for a short or anxious beginner to stand comfortably.
The South family and wellness pools are planned at 0.9 metres. The cascading children's and toddler pools are planned at 0.5 and 0.3 metres. Shallow depth does not automatically make these teaching pools: play traffic, irregular edges, hydrotherapy features and connections between zones may reduce control.
Post-handover assessment
The resident and instructor should inspect:
- actual completed depths and transitions;
- conventional walls and reliable recovery points;
- steps, ladders, ledges and overflow edges;
- the usable straight line in each lap pool;
- jacuzzi, aqua-gym and hydrotherapy connections;
- crossings between family and lap-pool areas;
- plot-to-plot visitor and bridge rules;
- glare, landscaping and sightlines; and
- lightning, maintenance and closure procedures.
No published dimension guarantees a reserved lane.
Future kids swimming lessons
Young beginners may work on breathing, face immersion, floating, recovery, kicking and short movement only after confirming that the 1.2-metre setting is appropriate. If the child cannot recover safely at a wall or is distressed by the depth, another venue may be preferable.
Independent children may progress to recognised strokes and repeat swimming. The North pool may suit controlled medium-distance work, while the South paths may offer longer repetitions if access and traffic allow.
The children's and toddler pools remain play-oriented settings. Parents are responsible for direct handover and supervision outside lesson time.
Future adult and ladies lessons
Adult beginners may practise relaxed exhalation, balance, floating, wall recovery and short swims after assessment. Learners uncomfortable in 1.2 metres should disclose this during enquiry.
Intermediate adults may use either completed lap pool for stroke correction, turns and repeat sets. The South 50-metre section may support longer continuous work, while the North 33.3-metre length changes distance calculations.
A female instructor may be requested, subject to future Katong coverage, plot access, schedule and availability. A women-only pool environment cannot be guaranteed.
Private and small-group formats
Private lessons may suit anxious beginners and targeted correction. Small groups may suit compatible siblings, couples or neighbours.
The development's large unit count and multiple pool zones do not guarantee quiet space. Group size must follow completed traffic, visibility and management rules. No exclusive lane is promised.
Access, bridge and heritage boundaries
The Continuum Bridge is part of the private residential environment, not a public shortcut between Thiam Siew Avenue plots. Visitors and instructors must follow the approved residential route.
The conserved Thiam Siew House, sky gardens, rooftop jacuzzis and social facilities serve different purposes and do not create alternative swimming areas. After handover, the resident should confirm visitor registration, identification, escort requirements and whether paid external coaching is allowed on the intended plot.
Timing and handover verification
Expected vacant possession is not actual TOP or pool opening. Residents should not purchase a property-specific package until the estate is operational, management permission is confirmed and the proposed instructor has assessed the intended North or South pool.
Verify final dimensions, depths, facility names, bridge rules, walls, steps, ladders and posted notices. If the completed estate differs from developer material, the programme and page should follow actual conditions.
Weather, fees and SwimSafer
The main pools appear outdoors and may close for lightning, heavy rain, wind, maintenance or water-quality issues. Written terms should cover notice, credits, make-ups, expiry and access-related cancellations.
Fees will depend on future format, instructor coverage, travel and plot access. This page does not invent a Continuum price. See SwimmingClasses.sg fees and rates for the present framework.
Future lessons may build breathing control, floating, safe entry, rotation and wall recovery. They will not automatically issue SwimSafer certification; formal assessment arrangements must be confirmed separately.
