Verticus Swimming Lessons for Kids and Adults

Verticus is a completed freehold condominium at 3 Jalan Kemaman in District 12. URA records completion in the third quarter of 2024 under SB (Kemaman) Development Pte Ltd, while the original project materials identify 162 residences.
The brochure places the main aquatic facilities at the fifth-storey “Blue Isle”: a Lap Pool, Spa Pool, Aqua Gym, Leisure Pool and Water Lounge. These are distinct settings and should not be treated as interchangeable lesson areas.
Quick answer
Residents may enquire about private or compatible small-group swimming lessons for children, adults, ladies, beginners and water-confident swimmers. The Lap Pool is the clearest option for conventional instruction, subject to current management permission, resident access and an on-site assessment.
The reviewed original brochure does not state pool length or depth. Third-party listings describing a 30m pool are not sufficient to establish a verified distance, so lessons should use the measured completed route.
Understanding the Blue Isle pools
Lap Pool
The Lap Pool may support water confidence, breathing work, stroke development, turns and fitness repeats when an approved clear section is available. The instructor should inspect entries, exits, depth signs, resting points and the unobstructed route before planning the session.
The facility name does not establish competition certification, lane markings, starting blocks, uniform depth or exclusive training space. No 25m, 30m or 50m course should be promised without direct verification.
Leisure Pool
The Leisure Pool is separately labelled and may have a shape, depth or edge layout intended for relaxation. It may support selected introductory activity only after completed conditions and management rules are checked.
It should not automatically replace the Lap Pool when the main swimming route is busy. Leisure traffic can make structured teaching disruptive or unsafe.
Spa Pool
Spa facilities may contain jets, seating, warmer water or steps. Those features can interfere with balance, breathing and communication, particularly for nervous beginners.
The Spa Pool should not be promoted for ordinary learn-to-swim, stroke or fitness sessions. Specialist therapeutic activity would require appropriate professional scope and specific permission.
Aqua Gym and Water Lounge
The Aqua Gym may contain exercise features designed for water-based fitness rather than swimming lengths. The Water Lounge may be a leisure or seating environment.
Neither should be represented as a conventional lesson pool. Their completed function, depth and access rules must be confirmed before any limited use is considered.
Lesson options
Kids swimming lessons
Children can develop safe entry and exit, bubbles, breath control, floating, kicking, recovery skills and age-appropriate stroke foundations. The coach must match activities to the child's height, confidence and verified pool depth.
The brochure does not label a dedicated children's or wading pool. Families should not assume that a shallow beginner area exists merely because the development includes leisure water.
Parents should disclose relevant medical, sensory or communication needs. Progress varies, so no fixed lesson count should be guaranteed.
Adult beginner lessons
Adult beginners may work gradually on breathing, balance, floating, recovery to standing, propulsion and short coordinated movements. Private coaching can provide individual pacing and focused feedback.
Tell the instructor about injuries, exercise restrictions or difficult water experiences. If the completed depth or layout does not suit the learner, another venue may be safer than moving into a spa or aqua-gym area.
Ladies swimming lessons
Learners may request a female swimming instructor for comfort, privacy, cultural preference or safeguarding considerations. Assignment depends on timing, estate access, location coverage and coach availability.
The Blue Isle remains a shared residential facility. A female-coach request does not create a private or women-only environment.
Stroke correction and fitness
Water-confident swimmers may work on freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, body position, breathing, turns, pacing and efficiency. Distance-based sets should use the observed clear route, not an unverified length from a property listing.
Other residents retain equal access. The coach should adjust drills if steps, leisure users or facility configuration interrupt the swimming line.
Private and small-group formats
Private lessons provide focused feedback and flexible progression. Small groups may suit residents with similar ability, goals and water confidence.
Group size must follow estate rules and preserve safe sightlines. Large mixed-level groups may obstruct residents or become difficult to supervise across several water areas.
Resident and management checks
Before paying for recurring lessons, ask the managing agent or MCST:
- whether external swimming instructors are currently permitted;
- whether identification, registration or insurance documents are required;
- whether a resident must register, escort or remain with the coach;
- which pool and hours may be used for instruction;
- whether floats, kickboards or other teaching aids are allowed;
- whether booking or a facility fee applies; and
- how closures, complaints and crowded conditions are handled.
Written confirmation is preferable where policy is unclear. SwimmingClasses.sg and an assigned coach cannot override security procedures or estate by-laws.
Fifth-storey access and supervision
Confirm the route from the entrance and lifts to the fifth-storey facility deck. Children should remain with a responsible adult or instructor and must not move between the Lap, Spa, Leisure, Aqua Gym and Water Lounge areas unsupervised.
Learners should walk on wet surfaces and keep equipment clear of the Club Verticus, party deck, dining spaces, showers and emergency routes.
Scheduling and shared-pool etiquette
Observe the Lap Pool at the proposed lesson time before choosing a weekly slot. Evenings, weekends and school holidays may be busy, but actual use should be checked rather than assumed.
The instructor should occupy only the space needed, keep equipment tidy and preserve access to entries and decks. A session may need to pause, relocate or end if conditions become unsafe or disruptive.
Weather and safety
Elevated outdoor facilities may be exposed to lightning, rain, wind, glare and heat. Lessons must stop during lightning warnings or whenever visibility, deck grip or water conditions become unsafe.
Everyone should leave the water promptly and follow on-site announcements. Maintenance, water treatment, contamination or resident events may close a pool. Agree on cancellation and rescheduling terms before payment.
Fees and booking expectations
Fees vary with private or group format, duration, learner level, frequency, instructor experience and travel requirements. Request a current quotation explaining package validity, payment timing, cancellations and any assessment charge.
Confirm management approval before purchasing multiple lessons. Several aquatic amenities do not automatically provide an authorised coaching slot.
SwimSafer preparation
Families interested in SwimSafer may ask whether the instructor offers programme-aligned preparation and where formal assessment takes place. Verticus should not be described as an official SwimSafer assessment venue unless independently verified.
Frequently asked questions
Does Verticus have a lap pool?
Yes. The original brochure identifies a Lap Pool at the fifth-storey Blue Isle.
Is the lap pool 30m long?
Some property listings make that claim, but the reviewed original brochure does not publish a length. The completed route should be measured before distance-based training.
Is there a children's pool?
The original facilities list does not label one. The Leisure Pool should not be assumed to be shallow or child-specific.
Can lessons use the Spa Pool or Aqua Gym?
They should not be default teaching locations. Jets, equipment, depth or leisure layout may interfere with conventional swimming instruction.
Can a non-resident instructor enter?
Only if current visitor and facility policies permit. A resident may need to register, escort or accompany the instructor.
Can I request a female instructor?
Yes, subject to availability, timing, access approval and location coverage.
Evidence and review note
Completion and developer identity were reviewed against URA's 3Q 2024 completion annex. The residence count and fifth-storey Lap, Spa, Leisure, Aqua Gym and Water Lounge facilities were reviewed against the original Verticus brochure on 26 August 2026. This evidence does not establish dimensions, depths, current coaching permission, lifeguard coverage, exclusive lesson space or competition certification.
