Volari Swimming Lessons

Volari is a completed freehold condominium along Balmoral Road in Singapore’s District 10. City Developments Limited’s 2012 annual reporting records that the exclusive 85-unit development received its Temporary Occupation Permit in July 2012. CDL’s project publication describes a shared lap pool and spa pool, while certain apartments have private jet pools or sky pools.

This guide helps residents assess the shared aquatic facilities for private or compatible small-group swimming lessons. It does not claim current management permission, an exclusive lane, access to any private apartment pool, or suitability of every water feature.

Quick answer

Volari’s shared lap pool is the logical candidate for structured lessons. CDL describes it as part of a fan-shaped aquatic setting with a massage shower, floating islands and massage pavilions, but does not publish a lap length. The actual straight route, depth, wall access and interaction with decorative or massage features must be checked on site.

The spa pool is designed for relaxation and hydrotherapy rather than ordinary stroke instruction. Private balcony jet pools and penthouse sky pools belong to specific homes and must never be treated as shared facilities or advertised lesson locations without the relevant owner’s direct permission and a separate safety assessment.

What is verified about Volari

CDL’s current property portfolio identifies Volari as an 85-unit freehold development completed in 2012. Its 2012 annual report states that the Balmoral Road project received TOP in July 2012.

CDL’s project publication identifies a shared lap pool with massage shower, floating islands and massage pavilions, plus a spa pool with spa beds, seats and hydrotherapy massage jets. It also states that four-bedroom units have private balcony jet pools and penthouses have private sky pools on roof terraces.

The selected first-party sources do not state the shared lap-pool length, current depth, formal lane markings, coaching policy, visitor process or operating hours. Current estate rules take priority over historical promotional material.

Assessing the shared lap pool

The term “lap pool” supports a structured-swimming use, but the surrounding aquatic features may interrupt a conventional training path. Before teaching, inspect:

  • the longest clear and straight swimming route;
  • any narrowing around floating islands or pavilions;
  • depth changes and standing options;
  • stable walls and reachable recovery points;
  • massage-shower activity and water movement;
  • steps, ladders, ledges and overflow edges;
  • visibility from the selected teaching position;
  • resident crossings and leisure traffic;
  • glare, water clarity and deck access; and
  • lightning, closure and emergency procedures.

No unsupported pool length should be used for distance sets. Beginners may work within a short assessed section near a reliable wall.

Kids swimming lessons

Young beginners may practise safe entry, bubbles, face immersion, floating, kicking and returning to a wall in an assessed section of the shared lap pool. The instructor should remain within immediate support range.

School-age swimmers may progress to freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke timing, breathing coordination and controlled repeats. Plans should use the actual clear route rather than an assumed standard length.

Floating islands, massage pavilions and water movement can attract play or interrupt sightlines. They should be treated as boundaries, not teaching aids. A parent or designated caregiver remains responsible before handover and immediately after class.

Adult and ladies swimming lessons

Adult beginners may start with breathing control, balance, floating, standing recovery and short supported movement. A learner with anxiety should not be pressured to cross an unfamiliar pool.

Intermediate adults may work on body line, breathing rhythm, turns and repeat swimming within the verified usable distance. The lap-pool label does not prove an uninterrupted lane or a fixed length.

A female instructor may be requested, subject to District 10 coverage, estate access, schedule and availability. The shared pool cannot be represented as women-only or private.

Private and small-group formats

Private lessons may suit nervous beginners, young children or swimmers seeking detailed technique correction. One-to-one coaching does not reserve the pool or exclude other residents.

Small groups may suit siblings, couples or neighbours with similar ability and goals. Participant numbers should permit continuous visibility around the pool’s architectural features. Learners needing substantially different support may require separate sessions.

The resident must confirm that the chosen format and participant count comply with current estate rules.

Spa, jet-pool and sky-pool boundaries

The shared spa pool contains beds, seats and hydrotherapy jets. Those features can restrict movement, create turbulence and serve a relaxation purpose, so it should not be presented as a substitute for the lap pool.

Private balcony jet pools are attached to particular four-bedroom apartments. Penthouse sky pools are also private residential features. Their existence does not create access for other residents, instructors or website visitors.

Any lesson proposed in a private pool would require the property owner’s explicit permission, a separate assessment of dimensions, depth, edge design, safe access, supervision and emergency response. This page does not offer or promise such access.

Access and management approval

Volari is private residential property. Its Balmoral Road address and proximity to Orchard or Stevens do not provide public entry to the shared pool deck.

The hosting resident should confirm whether external instructors are permitted, how visitors register, which entrance to use, whether identification or insurance is required, whether resident escort is mandatory, and whether equipment, group-size or time restrictions apply.

Private arrival details should be shared only with a confirmed instructor. An instructor should never be asked to bypass security or rely on previous access as proof of continuing permission.

Scheduling, weather and shared use

Residents should offer several possible weekday or weekend windows. No time can be advertised as quiet without current observation and management confirmation.

If the shared lap pool becomes busy, the instructor may shorten repetitions, use stationary drills, move to another permitted section after assessment or reschedule. Teaching aids must not obstruct decks, steps or other residents.

Outdoor lessons can be interrupted by lightning, heavy rain, wind, heat or glare. Swimming must stop when warning systems, management staff or the instructor require it. Written terms should explain weather decisions, notice periods, credits, access-related cancellations and package expiry.

Fees and preparation

Fees depend on duration, lesson format, participant count, instructor match, travel and estate requirements. This guide does not invent a Volari-specific rate. Review the SwimmingClasses.sg fees and rates guide and request a written quotation.

Provide the learner’s age, current confidence, swimming ability, goals, preferred schedule and relevant medical or support needs. Confirm management permission before final matching.

SwimSafer goals

Condo lessons may develop breathing control, floating, safe entry, rotation, wall recovery and stroke skills. Practice at Volari does not itself issue a SwimSafer certificate. Formal programme and assessment arrangements must be confirmed separately.

Frequently asked questions

Is Volari completed?

Yes. CDL records that Volari received TOP in July 2012.

Does Volari have a lap pool?

Yes. CDL identifies a shared lap pool, but the selected source does not publish its length.

Can lessons use the spa pool?

It should not be assumed suitable. Spa beds, seats and hydrotherapy jets serve a relaxation purpose and can restrict safe stroke movement.

Can residents use a private jet pool or sky pool for lessons?

Only the relevant property owner could consider that, subject to explicit permission and a separate safety and access assessment. Those pools are not shared facilities.

Can I request a female instructor?

Yes, subject to coverage, access, schedule and availability.

Is external-coach access guaranteed?

No. The resident must verify current management and security rules.
